Job Description

AbleVets, A Cerner Company, provides healthcare information technology services and resources to help the VA and DoD improve the lives of the people they serve. AbleVets has an opportunity for an experienced, motivated DevOps Engineer, Sr to support work with our customer to lead a transformational change to empower their product teams to embrace Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD). This technical and cultural transformation will enable their product teams to increase the speed with which applications are developed and deployed to Veterans and end-users. The position is based in Chantilly, Virginia or can be fully remote.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications 
 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or other engineering or technical discipline and five (5) years of relevant experience. An additional eight (8) years of related experience may be substituted for degree requirement.
  • Skill in developing and improving CI/CD scripts and services for development and deployment
  • Self-starter that can work under general direction in a highly collaborative, team-based environment
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust
  • Ability to travel up to 5% to customer sites as needed


    • Preferred Qualifications 
     

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or other engineering or technical discipline
  • Experience with Human Centered Design (HCD) principles and Design Thinking
  • Experience with the following CI/CD tools: Jenkins, CircleCI, DataDog, New Relic, PagerDuty, Slack, TwistLock, Codacy, etc
  • Experience with programming and infrastructure automation and infrastructure as code
  • Experience designing, developing, deploying and testing in AWS architecture
  • Experience with systems reliability, load balancing and monitoring
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills as well as interpersonal skills to interact with customers, team members and upper management

  • Must be residing in or willing to relocate to Chantilly, VA

    Due to specific client contract requirements, this position requires that the successful candidate be a U.S. citizen. The client contract also requires receipt of the appropriate government security clearance card applicable for the position.
