Job Description:
Responsible for working with engineering, product support, and other operational teams in order to provide automated release management systems for the decision support systems and products of Watson Health.  This will require developing automated processes for the building, deploying, and testing of database and analytic software.
 
Essential Responsibilities:

• Work with front-line product support and product engineering teams to define, plan, and implement automated application release processes.
• Ensure that the application release process meets the highest standards for secure, repeatable, auditable, and supportable processes.
• Support product support and engineering teams with troubleshooting operational and production issues.
• Coordinate with product engineering and monitor tasks for multiple revisions and platforms of application software.
• Estimate and plan automation work, track and report on task progress, and ensure we deliver work on schedule.
• Work within a structured development environment that includes version control, automated unit testing, and design reviews.
• Participate in the design, development and testing of software releases.

• Logical/technical mindset and problem-solving skills that enable to understand various processes and work within and around them and to understand, identify, and resolve problems in the process
• 5+ years of related experience in UNIX/LINUX, Windows Platforms, GIT, Jenkins, Oracle/DB2/PostGreSQL/MySQL, java, python, NodeJS. Groovy, gradle, maven, ansible
• 2+ years of related experience in cloud technologies: docker, Kubernetes, and helm
• Communication skills, written and oral; ability to communicate with individuals at various levels in the organization
• Project and personal time management skills that enable the individual to manage multiple tasks simultaneously; includes managing tasks within the established budget
• Strong teamwork and communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently while in a team environment

• A strong focus on business outcomes
• Comfort with collaboration, open communication and reaching across functional borders
• Data management skills
• Ability to code and script
• Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and tools
• Experience with systems and operations
• Comfort with frequent, incremental code testing and deployment
• Strong grasp of automation tools
