Financial Services multinational. DevOps Engineer required to help establish and implement Container technologies to streamline software development process. Speed, reliability and transparency are the main drivers. To this end, it is vital that the candidate has experience in supporting the adoption of software containers and Kubernetes; with strategy aligned to CI/CD foundations, pilots, or proof of concepts.
Duties include:-
- Creation and improvement of Continuous Integration automation across multiple platforms
- Creation and improvement of Continuous Deployment automation built on Docker, swarm or Kubernetes.
- Creation and improvement of dynamic monitoring and alerting solutions using industry leading services.
- Developing automation to ensure security across a geographically dispersed hosting environment.
- Provide highly skilled engineering services in the implementation of Docker Swarm, Kubernetes and containers
- Provide highly skilled usage of continuous integration (CI) tools such as Perforce, Jenkins, Nexus, Artifactory,JIRA etc.
Person Specification:
- Knowledgeable in micro-services architecture, CI/CD solutions (including Docker), DevOps principles,
- Designing and developing scripts/tools for Continuous Integration Continuous Deployments for Containers
- Automating configuration management, infrastructure, and application deployments in a toolset such as Puppet, chef, Ansible.
- Designing and developing automation templates/tools for infrastructure provisioning, configuration & change management
- Developing automation for application running on private and public cloud infrastructure environments such as AWS / Google Cloud / Azure
- Strategize, plan, prioritize, schedule and partner in the execution of infrastructure provisioning and configuration while focusing on maintaining or improving security, data integrity, programming logic integrity, and administration.
Skills/Personal Requirements:
- Deep specialisation in solution automation experience, with a focus on software containers, Docker, Swarm and Kubernetes.
- Working understanding and experience with Docker installation, configuration, and upgrades
- Working understanding and experience with Docker application deployments using Docker-compose standalone and stack deployments
- Working understanding of Docker storage architectures
- Manage and Maintain the Docker/Container image repository based on established security and process guidelines.
- Experience in Container orchestration in on-demand deployment, horizontal scaling, self-healing, and automation techniques
- Experience in productionising container technologies and in container security and monitoring
- Experience in defining new architectures and ability to drive an independent project from an architectural stand point (based on role).
- Proven track record of technical leadership roles delivering solutions within defined timeframes, and ensuring junior team members are successful in their delivery as well.
- In-depth experience with Linux
- Must have strong English communication skills and the ability to present status, demos, etc. to various teams.
- Knowledge of software build automation with ANT and/or Maven
- Strong cross-platform scripting skills (Bash, Windows Batch, Python etc.)
- Experience with Java
- SQL proficiency (PL/SQL and T-SQL)
- Ability to navigate comfortably in cross-platform environment (Windows, Linux)
- Knowledge of source control applications e.g. Perforce
