Desktop Support Analyst, 2ndLine Support Analyst, Microsoft Office, MCP, Windows, Contract to Perm, London - URGENT!!!

Desktop Support Analyst / 2ndLine Support Analyst required to work on in a busy IT Department for a company based in Central London. This role is URGENT and is for an immediate start (ideally next Monday). Ideally we want candidates who are willing to consider contract to perm after 3 - 6 months of contracting.

You MUST have a minimum of 2-3 years commercial experience in IT Support (1stand 2ndline combined) where you will have exposure to dealing with queries on the Helpdesk and visiting the Desktop to solve the issue if the problem becomes that complex. You must have a stable CV and show some solidarity in your career history!

You will be responsible for the following:

- Installation and configuration of servers as required based on project requirements

- Work within the Infrastructure team to provide solutions, support and development of the company network

- Support, daily management and development of:

  • E-mail Systems, Exchange environment, Content filtering, TLS,
  • Internet browsing and content filtering
  • All external facing systems
  • VPN Services, IPSec, SSTP, IAG, CheckPoint, SSL
  • Terminal Services Server virtualisation using (Hyper-V, VMware etc...)
  • Routers and Switches (Cisco, HP etc...)
  • Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPOs, WINS, Replication, Sites
  • Time Synchronisation across the network
  • UPS Management
  • Security Systems - Antivirus, USB Encryption, Bit-Locker
  • Management, testing and application of Updates for Servers/Appliances and Clients

- Responsible for providing reports and statistics on the network and its systems to IT management as required

- To keep up to date with technological changes in the IT industry and to develop new skills in response to these and in accordance with the company’s requirements

- To assist in the specification and procurement of new systems

- Carry out detailed health-checks on all systems including; updates, Hardware/Software checks

- Highlight any urgent patches/hot-fixes/security updates that are required on internal systems

- Investigation of all security breaches/antivirus alerts and provide report on entry-point along with remedial actions

- Develop efficient creation methods of systems (clients and servers)

- Creation and maintenance of IT technical documentation

- Provide IT systems solutions for requirements as advised by management

- Creating network and server diagrams and ensuring they are up to date

- Assist in the creation of departmental forms

- Liaising with 3rdParty Vendors / Contractors

- 1stline telecoms support

- Assist in project work and testing as directed by management

- To be courteous, tactful and patient at all times and to exercise the highest standards of customer care

You will have the following skills as a minimum:

  • Microsoft Windows
  • Some sort of Microsoft Certification (desired) like MCP / MCSE
  • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc)
  • Solid 2ndLine Support Skills
  • Active Directory
  • Troubleshooting
  • Excellent (like REALLY EXCELLENT) Communication Skills
  • Good idea of what excellent customer services should look like
  • Dedication / commitment
  • Good attitude
  • Excellent punctuality

This is initially a 3 month contract that is likely to roll and then be given the chance to go permanent. It is a great overall opportunity working in a great team with good people and rate will be dependent upon experience. Rate is NOT negotiable from what is quoted and rate quoted is based on a Limited Company Contractor.
