Roles and Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible to design, build, test and release code and applications that enable easy data access to our customers. You will be working cross-functionally with Business Intelligence, Analytics, and Engineering teams to design and implement the Data platform.
Work with backend software engineers to build efficient and scalable reporting solutions that tap into our databases.
Work with other teams to build data pipelines and services that can be used by other applications.
Develop Virtual Databases (VDBs), data source connections, views and web services in the Denodo Virtual DataPort
Troubleshoot problems and provide solutions.
Willing to learn and adopted new technologies in short period of time as required by the Project
Capability to be design solutions for complex projects.
Qualifications
Required Skills:
Data Engineer with strong software engineering skills
Working knowledge of the UNIX platform, iOS, Denodo, BitBucket, Jira, Rational Rose, UML, ClearCase, Eclipse, Telelogic Doors, Xcode
Excellent problem-solving abilities
Experience in programming and debugging
Ability to drive to decisions and consider the consequences
Demonstrated time management and prioritization skills
Ability to perform root cause analysis
Microsoft Office skills (including Word, Excel, and Access)
Desired Skills:
Familiarity with Build Management and Continuous Integration tools like Maven, Jenkins
Hands-on development experience using Docker and Container Orchestration platforms like Kubernetes
Experience working with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)
Education:
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Systems, Management Information Systems, or other IT degree and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
Engineering, math, and/or science degrees are acceptable substitute degrees.
The ability to successfully obtain and maintain a U.S. Suitability/Public Trust Background Clearance
