Data Solution Developer (Remote)

On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for a Data Solution Developer for a 6 Month contract based remotely

Purpose of the Role:

The primary focus of the role is to work as a technical and design and development authority within the various projects being worked upon by the Data SSC (Shared Service Centre) Team. The role will involve working closely with the other PMs, Data SSC Solution Architects and development teams both onshore and offshore to instil Quality and Best Practices (technical artefacts) into the projects that are being delivered for our clients

As a Data Solution Developer you will be responsible for:

Solution Design

• Development and integrating any Big Data tools and frameworks required to provide requested capabilities within the SSC (Big Data and Traditional DB Frameworks)
• Development of Data Pipelines using Scala/Java/Python for Spark processing
• Appreciation of Hadoop v2, Map Reduce, HDFS
• Experience with building stream-processing systems, using solutions such as Storm or Spark-Streaming
• Experience using Big Data querying tools, such as Pig, Hive, and Impala
• Ability to solve any ongoing issues with operating the cluster
• Working as lead on packaging and applying best practices within DevOps (Best
• Experience with NoSQL databases, such as HBase, Cassandra, MapRDB
• Experience with various messaging systems, such as Kafka, Flume or MapR Streams

Development

• Act as development champion for all project development undertaken by the SSC
• Python Programming Framework
• Work with onshore and offshore development teams
• Track and report on delivery of shared functionality
• Champion and Drive Code Reviews
• Lead Design Reviews

What we require from the candidate:

• Strong solution architecture experience in delivery of IT projects
• Strong data analytics/big data solution architecture experience in delivery of large systems
• 8+ Years, with strong development background
• Experience working with ETL technologies
• Experience working in onshore/offshore delivery centres, including interaction with geographically distributed clients
• Conception of a data warehouse and the different layers to integrate and distribute the data.
• Python Development Experience.
• Experience with Spark development.
