KEY SKILLS: Client is looking for strong expertise in Python, SQL, Pandas, and NumPy and also worked with Github, Snowflake and/or AWS.

What you will do as a Data Scientist / Python Engineer:

  • Work with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions.
  • Mine and analyze data from company databases to drive optimization and improvement of product development, marketing techniques and business strategies.
  • Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques.
  • Develop custom data models and algorithms to apply to data sets.
  • Use predictive modeling to increase and optimize customer experiences, revenue generation, ad targeting and other business outcomes.
  • Build scalable, efficient, and high-performance software around our data analytics platform to help us expand its reporting and analytics capabilities.
  • Interact with business users, development, and testing teams.
  • Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
  • Build analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency and other key business performance metrics.
  • Respond quickly to bug fixes and enhancement requests and be able to take directions and complete tasks on-time with minimal supervision.
  • Follow coding best practices: Unit testing, design/code reviews, code coverage, documentation etc.

You could be a great fit if you have:

  • Strong problem solving skills with an emphasis on product development.
  • Experience using statistical computer languages (Python, SLQ, etc.) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets.
  • Experience working with and creating data architectures.
  • Knowledge of a variety of machine learning techniques (clustering, decision tree learning, artificial neural networks, etc.) and their real-world advantages/drawbacks.
  • Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and concepts (regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests and proper usage, etc.) and experience with applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating across teams.
  • Strong expertise in Python, SQL, Pandas, and NumPy
  • Extensive experience with Data Warehousing, ETL Pipelines, large complex data sets, complex SQL queries.
  • Worked with Github, Microsoft SQL Server, Snowflake, AWS.
  • Been part of a distributed software engineering team.
  • Some experience with big data technologies such as Kafka, Spark, and others.
  • Desire to bring new and innovative solutions to the table to resolve challenging software issues as they may develop throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Experience with Agile / Scrum development processes.
  • Experience with RESTful APIs and server-side APIs integration.
  • Worked with automated build tools, continuous integration using Jenkins CI/CD and others.
  • Sound knowledge of repeatable automated processes for building, testing, documenting and deploying an application at scale.
  • Expertise in operational data stores and real time data integration.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, taking initiative to recommend and develop innovative solutions.
