Data Scientist (Remote)

We are currently looking to bring someone in for a Data Scientist role to work in a research and development oriented role. Initial interviews can take place early to mid April and will allow for the opportunity to work remotely. This person must be comfortable working with a large amount of data and numbers and must be comfortable performing calculations. The Data Scientist will be responsible for analyzing the results of internal and external client challenges, as well as updating a centralized company database to make it accessible by all staff throughout the research and testing facility.

Responsibilities for this role:

Helping the company maintain and improve performance by reviewing data metrics

Identify errors or areas for improvement based off of data results and also assist in resolving these issues and/or participate in process improvement.

Working closely with small project teams, typically 2-5 people including Data Scientists, Mathematicians, Engineers and Developers

This person will be building and implementing databases for various business units such as: Research & Development, Quality Assurance,Engineering, etc.

The chosen candidate will be downloading new data on a regular basis in order to read, understand and create filters in specific process areas.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree is preferred- ideally in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science/Information Technology or a closely related field
• Good knowledge on collection, analysis, and management of data and documents

• Candidates MUST be in the local Pittsburgh or closely surrounding areas

• Significant programming experience in Python, Java or .net

• Familiar with statistical software application.

• Comfortable with Microsoft software tools.
