An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Data Scientist to work for a leading Banking client based in London on a contract basis.

The succesful candidate will be responsible for maximising the understanding of the data and increase profitability through the use of generating scientific and statistically valid insights in identifying new opportunities and supporting strategies to achieve business objectives.

Key skills/experience required:

• Banking experience is preferable, ideally working in a regulated environment
• Programming languages Python, R, HIVE and database languages like tSQL or PL/SQL
• Big Data technologies like Spark and Hadoop
• Data wrangling tools like Trifacta or Pentaho
• Visualisation technologies like Tableau (preferred), Qlik or other
• Working with third party service providers like Amazon Web Services or Google Cloud Platform
• Experience of implementing and refining mathematical and statistical models
• Experience of implementing Machine Learning models, supervised and unsupervised
• Ability to develop cohesive working relationships with internal/external stakeholders
• Ability to bring analytical rigour and structure and effective solutions to poorly-defined problems
• Experience working with senior stakeholders in a global environment is desirable
