Creative Design Specialist/Graphic Designer

We prevent and reduce homelessness, both through the high-quality products we build and the invaluable people who build them. We manufacture innovative shelter systems that are used in disaster relief, homeless transitional housing and temporary worker housing.

Position Overview

Pallet’s Creative Design Specialist / Graphic Designer works closely with the marketing team (as well as other internal teams at Pallet) to translate complex ideas into exciting, easy-to-understand visuals that inspire. This part-time position reports to the Director of Marketing and Communications, and is based out of our Everett, WA headquarters or eligible for remote work.

Responsibilities

  • In partnership with the Marketing Director, create a visual vision for the Pallet brand that translates into new and powerful ideas across all surfaces and channels
  • Produce all online and offline graphic design materials, including but not limited to collateral, PowerPoint presentations, case studies, graphics, infographics, diagrams, etc.
  • Champion bold ideas and creative approaches to telling Pallet’s stories through visuals
  • Solve complex problems using innovative, clean, and clear visuals
  • Create brand consistency, ensuring that all materials support and strengthen Pallet’s brand and personality
  • Continuously strive to improve design quality
  • Leverage visuals as a driver for brand awareness, engagement, advocacy, and trust
  • Investigate, research, and stay up to date on the latest graphic design trends (and anticipate future trends)

Qualifications & Personal Characteristics

Requirements

  • At least 5+ years professional graphic design experience
  • You’ve produced best-in-class design for other companies (agency or in-house)
  • Highly skilled in Adobe Creative Suite, PowerPoint, and other creative design software
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent grammar, punctuation, and spelling skills
  • Inherently curious and asks questions to understand
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple concurrent projects
  • Ability to develop, organize, and maintain process documentation
  • Can own a project from start to finish and meet deadlines, working autonomously or in collaboration with others
  • Strong portfolio with examples of previous work

Preferred but not required

  • Degree in design or related area
  • Experience in video editing
  • Experience in photography
  • Front end web development experience
