As the RAC brand enters its next chapter of growth, investment in our brand and marketing is a key part of our strategy. As a result, we`re bringing together all our creative talent into one studio, to transform our marketing capabilities and to fully harness our digital resources, to bring a true customer centricity to our on/offline communications.

The development of this in-house Creative Studio in our Bradley Stoke, Bristol office means we have a new and truly exciting opportunity for a proven Front-End Developer, someone who is self-motivated with a desire to solve complex and challenging problems.

You will be passionate about your work and have an appetite for personal development, expanding upon your current knowledge base.
We expect you to challenge yourself and your colleagues and aim for constant improvements for our customers, the team, and yourself.


Role purpose
The successful candidate will be accountable for building, improving, and maintaining our main customer facing websites, as well as our key purchasing journeys and self-serve membership management applications.

You will be based within our Bristol based digital development team, working in a well-established Agile SCRUM environment and in a new and exciting team.


Skills, Knowledge and qualifications
To be considered candidates will possess the following, but as a minimum must have Angular experience (Angular 4 preferred).

Core Skills:
-HTML - Ability to write semantic modular HTML with BEM class naming
-CSS / SCSS - Ability to interpret designs and write modular stylesheets
-JavaScript - A good understanding of programming fundamentals is more important than experience with frameworks, but experience with ES6+, TypeScript, and Angular would be a plus
-Automation - Experience with frontend build tools such as Grunt, Gulp, and Webpack
-Version Control - Working in a large team of frontend and backend developers means a good understanding of branching in Git is necessary, and an awareness of how your work affects the wider project
-UX / UI - An appreciation of the importance of design and customer experience is key to being successful in your role
