One of my clients based in Cardiff is looking for two UX designers to join them on a contract basis. The role will be fully remote and the client is looking to get these two roles filled ASAP.

Responsible for the research, planning, design and documentation of user interfaces for web-based applications. You can demonstrate an excellent understanding of best UX practices and processes. Additionally, you are an excellent communicator, self-motivator and can demonstrate the ability to collaborate closely within a team of UX researchers and designers. This role suits someone with 5+ years working across multiple UX disciplines, and a good understanding of UR.

The ideal candidate:

  • Is detail-oriented with strong interaction design skills
  • Has excellent communication, presentation, and client management skills
  • Balances an academic interest in best practices with tactical solutions
  • Manages client expectations and own time efficiently
  • Enjoys collaborating with product owners, business analysts and software engineers to design innovative solutions
  • Has experience with Web application and Software design
  • Has SC clearance or is willing to undergo security vetting
  • Can start asap

Skills Required:

  • Work with clients to understand detailed requirements and design complete user experiences that meet client needs and vision
  • Use UX best practices to design solutions, and display a deep understanding of responsive design
  • Iterate designs and solutions efficiently and intelligently
  • Clearly and effectively communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions to teams and clients
  • Build interactive wireframes (prototypes) using Axure
  • Follow an iterative User-Centered Design process
  • Work collaboratively in a cross-disciplinary, agile team
  • Conduct User research
  • Conduct User testing
  • Defense industry experience a plus but not required

Outputs / Deliverables: Deliverables as agreed within individual sprints as defined by the team scrum master, to include:

  • Personas
  • User Stories
  • Feature maps
  • Sitemaps and user journeys
  • Wireframes and interaction models using Axure
  • Support for the HF/UX Lead at user events, system and/or solution demos, and working groups.
