Developer for our 'IBM Kubernetes Container Service', 'RedHat OpenShift on IBM Cloud', and ‘IBM Cloud Satellite’ managed services focusing on the master deployment and update process. You will interact with cutting edge technology (including Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift, etc.) and be on a team responsible for IBM’s strategic hybrid cloud solution. You will have the opportunity to solve complex distributed system and networking problems for a service that is revolutionizing the way organizations manage their applications and IT infrastructure.As a developer on these managed services you will be responsible for:
· Managing upstream community Kubernetes and OpenShift releases to integrate them into our managed services offerings
· Delivering new releases of our managed services
· Coordinating with a multidisciplinary team of developers on a service rollout cadence
· Triaging gate issues to ensure successful production deployments
· Participate in the software development cycle by designing, developing, and supporting new features in our master Kubernetes components using GO, Python, and bash scripting
· Managing Kubernetes cluster deployments across a distributed infrastructureRequired Professional and Technical Expertise:
· 4+ years of experience in overall software development
· 3+ years of experience in back end & Linux development
· 2+ years of development experience in a cloud environment
· Knowledge of Kubernetes and OpenShift technologies
· DevOps skills
· Great communication skillsPreferred Professional and Technical Expertise:
· 4+ years of back end & Linux development in a cloud environment
· 2+ years of experience in Kubernetes and OpenShift development
· 3+ years’ experience in CI/CD methodology including Jenkins and Travis CI
· Experience using Docker to build and run applications
· Experience with IT automation systems like Ansible
