Rate: £475 - £540 a day

Duration: 6 months extendable

Location: South East England (site and remote work)

Contract assignment for experienced Cisco Network Engineer(s)/Network Architect(s) who hold the CCIE (Routing & Switching or CCIE Collaboration or CCIE Data Centre) certification. Working on a major client project delivering complete network transformation across the UK and Europe. The Senior Network Engineer/Architect will have experience of network monitoring platforms and tools.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete network transformation locations across the UK and Europe including offices
  • Technologies involved include Cisco Routing & Switching , Data Centre
  • Innovate forward-thinking solutions to solve problems
  • Design, Deployment and Installation of Cisco and associated technologies

Skillsets Required:

  • Must be CCIE - Routing & Switching certified (or Data Centre or Collaboration)
  • 10+ years of experience in network Cisco Routing & Switching, design, configuration, implementation and troubleshooting
  • Experience managing common network services such as DHCP and DNS
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, VoIP, QOS, IPsec, Cisco Switches (Catalyst 3000, 4000, 9000, NEXUS 7K/5K/2K), Cisco ASA firewalls, Palo Alto firewalls, network analysers, network monitoring, wireless technologies, VPN (Cisco/Pulse Secure/IPSEC/SSL), Windows and UNIX
  • Ability to solve complex problems and perform network tuning based on in-depth performance and protocol analysis for network infrastructure
  • Understanding of OSI model
  • Must have a team-oriented mind-set, flexible in working directly with all levels of users and management
  • Ability to participate in an on-call rotation performing weekend and after-hours support
  • Able to troubleshoot and escalate effectively
  • Any knowledge of SD-WAN (Viptella), SD-Access, Cisco WLAN beneficial moving forward
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation).
