Cherokee Nation Technologies is interviewing now for a (temporary) CI/CD Pipeline Engineer to work with our client, United States Geographical Society (USGS), for four months.

  • Existing Public Trust Clearance Preferred.

SUMMARY

CI/CD Pipeline Engineer will collaboratively work with the DevOps team to ensure the team’s utilization of best practices, tools, and solutions for the completion of product tracking systems. The ideal candidate will demonstrate skills in conducting CI/ CD using GitLab, Docker, and automated testing applications and best practices.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes the following:

  • Apply best practices and methodology in DevOps and CI/CD deployment pipeline.
  • Develop a correct CD/CI pipeline using open source technologies GitLab and Docker.
  • Automate testing of applications using best practices.
  • Assist with managing and monitoring all installed systems and infrastructure in the cloud and physical servers.
  • Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
  • Ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.
  • Implements quality assurance reviews and evaluation of new and existing hardware/software.
  • Lead migration and implementation of new software, system upgrades, evaluate patches, resolves software related problems, performing security scans.
  • Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions and work to implement those fixes.
  • Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on tasks.

SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY

This position will not have supervisory/management authority.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Existing Public Trust Clearance preferred.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • BA/BS in computer science, software engineering or similar degree.
  • 3+ years of progressive responsibility with software engineering is required
  • 3+ years of experience with GitLab and Docker.
  • 5+ years of experience with Linux.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Continuous integration (CI), continuous delivery (CD), and constant improvement.
  • Ability to write support and technical documentation.
  • Knowledge of C++ and Python / Django preferred.
  • Knowledge of Jenkins.
  • Excellent writing and communications skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Function well in a fast-paced environment.
