Big Data Engineer - Azure

An exciting opportunity for a Big Data Engineer to join a Game Studio of a leading Technology company based in Twycross, on a 6 month contract.

You will be joining the BI team where you will be utilising some very advanced technologies, mostly within Azure. The successful engineer will be working with large, diverse datasets supporting some very interesting analytic use cases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implementation and test for a range of data pipelines, applying structure to unstructured data and carrying out various transformations.
  • Configuration and set up of specific data services within Azure, to ensure suitability and alignment with the rest of the stack.
  • Documentation of architecture and data flows, ensuring a clear, maintainable stack going forward.
  • Responsibility for compliance with organisational policies and privacy requirements.

Requirements

  • A minimum 3 years of relevant experience with Azure, specifically ADF, HDInsights, and Databricks.
  • Deep knowledge of SQL and Hive.
  • Demonstrated experience with data infrastructure design
  • A self-starter who can effectively prioritise, manage time and work load.
  • A team player who can communicate effectively with other engineers and analysts.
