AWS Engineer (Remote)

Apex Systems has an immediate opening for an AWS Engineer to lead a cloud migration for a security team at a large financial regulator. The AWS Engineer will work closely with the development and security teams to lead migration efforts and support the application post-production. This position is on an 8-month contract basis and offers a competitive compensation package.

Title: AWS Engineer

Type: 8-month contract

Location: Fully Remote

Responsibilities:

• Work in tandem with engineering and security teams to lead migration efforts of a large on-premise security application
• Define and document best practices and strategies regarding application deployment and infrastructure maintenance
• Provide guidance, thought leadership, and mentorship to development teams to build cloud competencies
• Ensure application performance, uptime, and scale, maintaining high standards of code quality and thoughtful design
• Managing cloud environments in accordance with company security guidelines

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or mathematics
• 6+ years of experience architecting, designing, developing, and implementing cloud solutions on AWS platforms
• Experience leading past AWS migration effort within the security space
• Expert knowledge of AWS Services like: Lambdas, S3 Buckets, EBS, RDS, EC2

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS certifications are a plus
• Knowledge Sailpoint IdentityIQ tool
