AWS DevOps Engineer (Remote, Outside IR35)

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Lead Cloud Engineer (AWS DevOps) to help develop enterprise-level solutions within the client’s AWS cloud environment and be a key part of transforming their digital estate. The successful candidate will have strong design, implementation, migration and administration experience with AWS, alongside a history of developing enterprise solutions using .NET.

Skills and Experience:

• Practical, hands on experience in the establishment, configuration, development, automation, monitoring and support of enterprise Cloud services
• Experience of AWS technologies and infrastructure, best practices, implementation and support ideally for large, public-sector organisations (GDS / GOV-UK frameworks)
• Experience in the practical application of AWS Native Platform as a Service capabilities to reduce the need for bespoke code and ensure applications are scalable, reliable and secure
• Where bespoke code is required, experience using modern software development frameworks and development practises using technologies such as C# .NET, JavaScript NodeJS (Angular/React), etc.
• Infrastructure as code using technologies such as CloudFormation

Role and Responsibilities:

• To provide AWS Development, Configuration Testing and Deployment services to assist in the development of a new government portal
• To provide AWS Development, Configuration Testing and Deployment services to assist in the development of a financial payment product
• To provide AWS and DevOps expertise to the end-client and internally as and when required

Deliverables:

You will be working as part of small, dedicated team focused on the replacement of on-premise legacy applications (e.g. SharePoint, HP TRIM) with new AWS Cloud services and any data migration activities required to support that replacement. You will be providing expertise in delivering high quality, practical design documentation for AWS-based services using C#/.NET and JavaScript.

** Security Clearance – this role requires candidates with current/recent BPSS clearance and/or the ability to pass basic security checks **
