Job Title: AWS Cloud Security Engineer Location: Durham NC Type: Contract Duration: 12+ months (Extended up to 3-4 years)
***The candidate will be allowed to work remotely but will be expected to work onsite once staff return to site.
Job Description: This position is responsible for defining a complete strategy to address security risks across the whole enterprise and ensuring that the systems and information used to facilitate organization operations includes adequate information security safeguards.This position will help define / coordinate the Cloud roadmap and collaborate with office to respond to audits and evidence collection requests. This resource will be responsible for guiding and developing risk management strategy and overseeing, facilitating and coordinating the privacy compliance efforts of the agency,anaging our and defining/documenting needed processes,. Duties include identifying and/or specifying cybersecurity requirements of data that will reside in the cloud, including classification of the data (confidential, private, etc.) as well as any other regulatory requirements in order to build and deploy infrastructure with cloud deployment, build and test automation technologies like ansible, chef, puppet, docker, jenkins. This role will also be responsible to document the enterprise-identified common controls in the organizational documents such as the security plan and work directly with the Client office in supporting the security policies and procedures development as well as ensuring compliance with established security policies and procedures.
Experience with data classifications and AWS data protection mechanisms and working knowledge of AWS security services and features of services.
Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems and cloud provider ecosystems like Amazon AWS
Experience with data integrity and content migration through code releases and data migration to cloud solution.
Experience AWS foundation services related to compute, network, storage, content delivery, administration and security, deployment and management.
Experience with Data encryption and key management.
Experience architecting, designing, and programming applications and programming languages such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Visual Basic.
Experience using AWS Cloud Services (EC2, DynamoDB, API Gateway, RDS, Lambda, CloudFront, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, Route 53, etc.)
Experience with NIST 800-53 suite of controls within RMF process and MARS-E network accreditation controls and mapping
Ability to work with various multi-disciplinary teams with priority on the successful completion of group goals
Ability to apply adept understanding and experience with systems automation platforms and technologies
Experience interpreting security and technical requirements into business requirements and communicate security risks to relevant stakeholders.
Experience executing security architectures for cloud cloud/hybrid systems
