I am recruiting for one of the largest public sector organisations in London who is in charge of the infrastructure/ light railway services in London.

Your new role

The Monitoring team run clearly defined activities in contributing towards putting services into the state in which it is meant to be operating. This includes Infrastructure and Application monitoring, Application performance management, Event Management, running service improvement plan initiatives, and Automation. Self-healing is a key principle in addition to remediating the problems already found within the estate. In addition to using standard off the shelf monitoring toolset, the monitoring team creates a lot a custom monitoring for in house applications and cloud-based applications

The primary focus of this role is to create custom monitoring for in house applications hosted on azure cloud platform as a result azure experience especially with PaaS and monitoring is essential.

What you'll need to succeed

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

• Working knowledge of Azure especially PaaS services
• Expert knowledge in AppInsight
• Azure dash board
• Azure log analytics
• Expert knowledge in SCOM 2012
• SCOM Management pack authoring
• Expert Knowledge SCORCH
• Experience in managing and implementing a large SCOM environment
• Experience in the Microsoft System Centre 2012 suite
• Administration of Windows server 2003, 2008 R2 and 2012
• PowerShell Scripting
• Strong ability to document and define requirements and processes
• Highly skilled at solving and communicating complex problems, applying knowledge and technology to the full
• Proven experience in planning, with good analytical skills
• Proficient in risk management methods and techniques for the assessment and management of IM and business risk
• Able to mentor and coach colleagues
• Experience working with Git and version control
• Experience working in an Agile environment

Desirable:

• Ability to write SQL queries
• C#
• MS Configuration Manager 2012
• Python scripting
• Linux OS
• Experience of working in an ITIL environment with comprehensive change management
