Welcome to Ostendo Solutions, a small and agile consulting firm with over a decade of experience contracting exclusively with the Microsoft Corporation. We are seeking a developer to join our continuously growing team for a remote position with occasional paid travel to the Puget Sound area (Seattle/Bellevue/Redmond, WA). The ideal candidate will be flexible, self-motivated, and able to begin their position as soon as possible.
Responsibilities:
This role is client facing and requires a high level of customer contact for collaboration & design. The individual in this role will have a strong business acumen and be able to automate business processes by creating applications and workflows with PowerApps and related Microsoft technologies. An Ostendo PowerApps Developer will:
- Design, code, build, and modify mobile and web applications leveraging Microsoft PowerApps and Microsoft Flow while meeting client specifications
- Coordinate with web designers to match visual design intent
- Integrate data from various back-end services and databases
- Provide App support and maintenance
- Maintain, expand, and scale mobile and web applications as needed
- Write well designed, testable, efficient code in different software languages
- Create website layout/user interface by using standard HTML/CSS practices
- Create unit test plans/case, develop, unit test, conduct code and unit test walk-throughs
- Implementing CDS/SQL Server Row level security
- Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical business and executive leaders
- Work with clients to support various critical projects, and design end-to-end solutions that improves collaboration, productivity and knowledge sharing
- Evaluate and identify new technologies for implementation
Requirements and Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent work experience and practical knowledge
- Previous work/internship with experience with Microsoft highly preferred
- Experience working in vendor/client relationship within matrix management structure highly desirable
- Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently, as well as collaborate with others
- Be a team player, able to effectively work with team members located across different locations
- Developed problem solving and issue resolution skills
- Ability to operate independently to design, develop, and prepare applications
- Proven experience as a web developer, designer, mobile app developer, or equivalent background
- Expert knowledge and understanding of Office 365 technologies (PowerApps, Flow, Teams, OneDrive, Power BI, SharePoint, Common Data Service, Azure SQL Database, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of APIs and integrating back-end systems
- Knowledge of UI, browser compatibility, web functions and standards
- Experience with relational database systems, object-oriented programming, web application development and search engine optimization
- Familiarity with at least one of the following programming languages: Java, PHP, ASP.NET, Javascript, Ruby on Rails, etc
- Advanced attention to detail and problem-solving skills
